Link Wray was perhaps the first important instrumental rock musician to feature the power chord prominently. His impact has been felt throughout almost every genre of music for the last five decades (from Rock 'n' Roll to Garage, Country, Blues, Punk, Grunge and Surf music). Link Wray's sound, style and career stood at an intersection of Rock 'n' Roll, the rise of the guitar instrumental, the cult of the juvenile delinquent, and modernity in general. This quintessential collector's edition contains Wray's magnificent and essential debut album, Link Wray & The Wraymen. Here is the material upon which Wray's unique reputation was built

High Quality 180g Vinyl Remastered From Original Analog Tapes! Limited to 1000 Copies!
180 Gram Vinyl! Featuring Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys! Sourced from the Original Stereo Masters!
A hi-octane mix of revved up vocal tracks and charging hot rod instrumentals, this album laps the competition! Led by Bruce Johnston, The Kustom Kings include the Wrecking Crew's finest, including Glen Campbell, Tommy Tedesco and Hal Blaine!
Prior to becoming a full-time Beach Boy and well before he wrote the song that made the whole world sing, Bruce Johnston was a key member of the West Coast music scene. In 1959, while still in high school, Johnston played piano on friend Sandy Nelson's hit single, "Teenbeat." This opportunity kicked off an incredibly prolific period for the young musician. Johnston recorded under his own name as well as many group names, playing with the cream of the California session personnel, The Wrecking Crew. He also made records with his friend Terry Melcher until Melcher moved on to pursue record producing full time. Johnston was producing as well but saw no reason to stop his musical pursuits. Songwriter, vocalist, producer, session musician—if the surf and hot rod scene had a renaissance man, surely it was Bruce Johnston.
By 1964, Johnston was already a proven veteran. Following up the success of The Rip Chords collaboration with Melcher and its hit single "Hey Little Cobra," Johnston revved up The Kustom Kings. With a mission statement "to present the most authentic hot rod album on the market," the Kustom City U.S.A. album brought together an all-star team. Bruce Johnston wrote and co-wrote much of the LP's material, as did producer/arranger/saxophonist Steve Douglas. Rounding out the band were guitarists Tommy Tedesco and Glen Campbell, Ray Pohlmann on bass, Jay Migliori on second sax and Hal Blaine on drums—WOW! For added authenticity, car designer George Barris, "THE KING OF THE KUSTOMIZERS," jumped on board as a special adviser. He, along with several of his rolling works of art, is pictured on the album's artwork. Looking at the full-color front cover slick, you can practically smell the burning rubber and fresh coats of paint!
The too-cool visuals are just a bonus, however, because the REAL story is the music! A hi-octane mix of vocal tracks and charging instrumentals, there is not a second of filler to be found among the twelve tracks. Tedesco and Campbell lock in gripping guitar duels while Douglas and Migliori wail over the timing belt beat of Blaine and Pohlmann. Johnston contributes superb vocal and piano work and together, the Kustom Kings jam the accelerator down to floorboard! An album this magnificent should have ruled the charts, but things were moving quickly in 1964 and the public's attention soon turned elsewhere. Through the ensuing years, word of Kustom City U.S.A. and its brilliance spread through the collector scene, with copies of the LP changing hands for considerable sums. And now, just when you thought the tank was on E, Sundazed roars in with a maniacally marvelous reissue! Sourced from the original stereo masters, Kustom City, U.S.A. has been tuned up and restored to showroom condition.

Limited Edition Gold Colored Vinyl! Only 1000 Copies! Gatefold Jacket! Tribute to George Barris the Legendary Car Kustomizer!
The Kustom Kings is an exciting collection of songs on the Sundazed/Swept-Wing label by legendary artists. This album kicks off with rockabilly all-time greats the Collins Kids with a revved up new rendition of their penned 1950's classic “Hot Rod.” Larry Collins, the fire blazing lead guitarist shows he still has his guitar chops with “Fireball 500” and “Wing Walker.” Guitar whiz Deke Dickerson, has been referred to as “Mr. Entertainment” and that is evident here with Deke penning a new classic with the song “King of the Kustomizers” followed by three more fun-filled tunes. Another classic guitar group featured is horror’s own the Ghastly Ones with reverb bone-chilling sounds. The Neanderthals rock it up with “Flintmobile” complete with Flint-Effects that will have you craving a bronto burger! SoCal’s own Dynotones gas it up with more of their special hot rod tunes. To charm you even more is Germany’s surf kings the Kilaueas with “Cosma Ray.”
This album is dedicated as a tribute to George Barris, the legendary car kustomizer. You may not know George by name but you know his cars. He has created countless kustom TV and movie cars such as the 1966 Batmobile, the Munsters Koach and Dragula cars and he has built cars for stars like Elvis Presley, Ringo Starr and so many more. This release is a limited edition and features the art of master low brow artist “Dirty Donny.”

Released just one month after the Surfer Girl album, Little Deuce Coupe was, incredibly, the Beach Boys' fourth album in less than a year. Brian Wilson and the band responded by turning in arguably their most consistent effort to date — and a concept album, to boot.
Little Deuce Coupe expanded the band's subject matter to encompass 1963 America's burgeoning love affair with hot rods, surrounding previously released cuts such as the title track, "409," and others with strong new material (much of it cowritten by Wilson and a DJ, Roger Christian). A highpoint: the a cappella James Dean tribute "A Young Man Is Gone" (a reworking of Bobby Troup's beautiful "Their Hearts Were Full of Spring"), a prime example of Wilson's arranging genius and the band's vocal prowess. "Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring" had been a standard for the vocal group The Four Freshmen, whose lush and distinctive jazz-based vocal arrangements had a huge influence on Brian's musical development.
Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.
The stereo editions of Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Shut Down Vol. 2, All Summer Long, Beach Boys Christmas Album and Beach Boys Concert were all mixed in stereo by their own preferred engineer, Chuck Britz, ostensibly under the group's supervision.
"Brian may or may not have been present for those mixing sessions — evidence suggests that he trusted Chuck's skills enough to let him prepare those mixes on his own — but the group held onto their multitrack tapes and delivered stereo masters to Capitol, rather than allowing Capitol to prepare their own stereo versions. Later, when Brian was only delivering mono masters, Capitol would prepare the Duophonic pseudo stereo editions for the stereo market," says Alan Boyd, producer and Beach Boys' archivist.
The Beach Boys' practice of double-tracking their vocals really lends itself to stereo mixes. Split left and right, as they are on a lot of those early stereo versions, those doubled vocal parts can really envelop the listener, surrounding them with Wilsons, Loves and Jardines!
All of the newer stereo mixes on these remastered albums (The Beach Boys Today!, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!), The Beach Boys' Party, Pet Sounds and Smiley Smile) were all done by Mark Linett on behalf of the Beach Boys.

Shut Down Volume 2 is the fifth studio album by the Beach Boys, and the first of four they would release in 1964. Shut Down Volume 2 reached number 13 in the US charts during a chart stay of 38 weeks. The "Volume 2" in the album title refers to a multi-artist album featuring and named for the Beach Boys' song "Shut Down," released eight months earlier by the band's label.
"The first Shut Down was a hugely successful Capitol Records Various Artists compilation LP that had included a pair of Beach Boys tracks. Whereas their previous album Little Deuce Coupe had been a full-on car themed concept album, the Beach Boys' Shut Down Volume 2 was pretty much evenly split between songs with car themes and various high school and summertime-themed tunes. The album sought to further the Beach Boys beyond its ironic sea-and-sun fetish (none but Dennis Wilson ever surfed) into the burgeoning hot-rod subculture...the high points remain nothing short of spectacular, including the Mike Love-propelled 'Fun, Fun, Fun,' Wilson's knowing nod to Phil Spector, 'Don't Worry Baby,' and the (hit) 'The Warmth of the Sun.

ASTRONAUTS COMPETITION COUPE - Like every great surf combo worth its salt, the Astronauts were fully aware that the dragstrip was only a few miles away from the beach! When it came time to cut their 1964 LP, Competition Coupe, the fiery Boulder, Colo. quintet retooled their slippery-when-wet sound to accommodate the supercharged, A-gas burning crowd faster than the light blinks green on a Christmas-tree drag stack. The blistering lead guitar of Rich Fifield, stacked up against the twin rhythm-guitar assault of Bob Demmon and Dennis Lindsey, navigated the asphalt aisle as easily as it had previously straddled those pounding 20-footers on magical sides like "Little Ford Ragtop," "650 Scrambler" and album title-tune "Competition Coupe." The six LPs cut by the Astronauts for RCA remain holy grails for surf 'n' drag collectors today, and Sundazed's high-definition vinyl, exact repro of Competition Coupe is cause for rubber-burning celebrations everywhere!

DAVIE ALLAN & THE ARROWS ANTHOLOGY 1964-68 DEVIL'S RUMBLE 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION 2 LP SET
Davie Allan & The Arrows recorded the most frenzied instrumentals the world has ever heard. Allan’s fuzzed-out guitar was an audio compass pointing towards freedom, sex, danger and violence, his trashy fretboard riffs exploding behind flickering celluloid images of cycle runs, biker fights, drug freakouts and rubber-burnin’ hot rods. The myriad of Arrows’ recordings is filled with loud, loose and savage tracks, and includes the mega-hit "Blues Theme" from the trashy Roger Corman flick, The Wild Angels. Allan’s recordings were originally spread out over four studio albums, a bevy of impossible-to-find singles, and more than a dozen rare soundtrack appearances from 1965-1968, thus defusing his long overdue recognition.

LINK WRAY - WHITE LIGHTNING - LOST CADENCE TAPES - TREMENDOUSLY RARE OUT OF PRINT MASTERPIECE - ALONE SELLS FOR $200 IN THE COLLECTORS MARKET- The kids of 1958 loved 'em, and their first single for Cadence Records shot up the charts like a label owner's dream. This is the fantastic and fiery album that was supposed to have been released as a follow-up to one of the all-time great instrumental classics, the ultra-menacing "Rumble." But faster than you can say "Drag Race," everyone--Cadence label-owner Archie Bleyer included--was talking about this new threat to the morals of American youth. That's why Link and his boys were off the imprint, and this album of prime distorto-guitar-crunch cool remained unreleased for nearly 50 years. Well here it is, and it's every bit as dirty and dangerous as you would expect!

Sundazed's final vinyl restoration of the vintage Dale catalog features Checkered Flag. Checkered Flag is heavy with white-hot Dale instrumental ("Night Rider," "Ho-Dad Machine") and vocal car tunes from the pens of pop's songwriters (Gary Usher, Gary Paxton, Carol Connors). Helping Dale stir up the nitro fuel are L.A. session stars Plas Johnson, Steve Douglas, Hal Blaine and Earl Palmer. Checkered Flag is tough stuff, an unyielding trophy-run down the asphalt aisle. This album has been mastered from the original analog tapes and is packaged with the complete original cover art.
